Are We Cured Yet?

Big promises.
Real progress?

AI is beginning to revolutionize medicine. We track what has actually reached patients — one verified milestone at a time.

FOLLOW THE EVIDENCE

Verified approvals and their supporting sources.
Only these records contribute to the counters.

0 APPROVED RECORDS

No approved AI-designed drugs documented yet.

AI roles reported by developers are labeled as such. Regulatory approval is checked separately. This curated starting dataset is not an exhaustive pipeline.

Clinical trials

Rentosertib moves into Phase III development

Insilico reports AI involvement in both target discovery and molecule design, and announced Phase III development in 2026.

Rentosertib is investigational. This development update is not a marketing approval or evidence of a cure.

Company announcements are attributed to their source. A trial milestone does not establish approval or a cure.

04 / OUR METHODOLOGY

Medical progress is a team effort. We track newly discovered or designed AI-origin medicines. Repurposed drugs are excluded from the approved-drug dataset and both counters. Research updates are kept in a separate news dataset.

01 What counts as a cure?

A disease counts only with clinical evidence of a durable curative outcome for a defined patient population and a documented AI role in a new treatment’s discovery or design. Repurposed drugs are excluded. Symptom relief, a promising experiment, remission alone, or an approval does not automatically qualify. Zero means no qualifying record in this dataset; it is not proof that AI has had no clinical benefit.

02 What counts as an approved drug?

We count distinct newly discovered or designed active substances with an FDA-approved therapeutic indication and a documented AI contribution to discovery or molecule design. Each substance counts once. Repurposed drugs — existing medicines identified for a new use — are excluded, even when AI helped identify that use. They are not included in the approved-drug dataset or either counter. Emergency authorization, trial clearance, and breakthrough designation do not count as marketing approval.

03 What do the numbers cover?

This is a curated dataset, not a global census. There is no single comprehensive, standardized “AI-created medicines” registry. Each counted example must have inspectable evidence. The counters are calculated from the qualifying entries in the current dataset. Research news is stored separately and never increases either counter. A treatment approval does not establish a cure.

04 How current is this page?

This is a static snapshot reviewed on 28 October 2026, based on the linked evidence. Each approved-drug record and news article carries its own source-review date. The two datasets are maintained separately. It does not update automatically. Counts change only when the underlying records are reviewed and the page is republished.
